My Work

I've done more work than I can describe, but here is some information on a few of the applications that I have worked on.

For my current job at RPI I get to program and design interfaces for teaching math. A nice thing about this
is that for once I can actually point a reader to work that's free and publically available.
Here is a link to the Virtual Beadloom. It used to be a Java applet, but that version had some bugs and
distribution problems, so I got to recreate it in Flash. There are still a couple of missing features that I want to get back to adding after I'm done with my current project,
but I'm pretty happy with it. I love the Native beadworks themselves.
Here is a
fun design that I created with it.

I recently created a simple website for a nice fellow that I met. Here is the ItechXpress site.

I recently created a fun DVD video of a band's performance. Their name is Zardoz (after the Sean
Connery movie of the same name). Zoomy tunes. Here is the
cover image.

For Macromedia I just programmed. I worked on one really neat communication server video application
which is sitting on a shelf somewhere, and I got to help create components and work on sample applications
for the 1.0 release of
Central. I like the new 1.5 version a great deal and am working on
a personal project for it, which is a collaborative storytelling game.

At General Dynamics I focused more on programming and some on interaction design but not on graphics.
I can't post the work, but the biggest project from there is described a little on McGraw Hill CTB's website. It was a pretty nice application for doing test assesment. Apparently they sold it to the state of Virginia recently. Congratulations! I-Know

At The SUNY Research Foundation I was a lead in the graphic design, user interface design, educational design, and programming tasks. Our Place, Interviewing Fundamentals, The legal aspects of PSA and Due Dilligence were all done there.

They were either CD's or contained legal information so I can't put them online either, but here is some information about them.

Our Place

"Our Place" is a CD-ROM training program with lots of features
and rich multimedia, such as MPEG video tightly integrated
with content and activities,  discussion and collaboration tools.
It was created in 1995 and released in 1996. It is still ahead of
it's time in terms of  its' instructional design, interface design and features.

Interviewing Fundamentals

"Interviewing Fundamentals" built on the success of "Our Place"
technologically. It added detailed tracking of student progress,
lots of integrated activities, a very flexible interface and an
innovative self-test and feedback mechanism.

The Legal Aspects of PSA

The "Legal Aspects of PSA" is a tightly integrated HTML training
resource built to run on an intranet with the 16 bit version of Internet Explorer 3
It shows you can make a nice training resource using only
cross-browser Javascript,
frames and cookies.

Due Dilligence

Due Dilligence was my first training CD done entirely in Flash.
I'd been using Flash on my own since it was Futurewave's
Futuresplash, so I was really happy to have finally had
a chance to use it in a project for work. It was done in the fall of 1999.

Illustration Work

Finally, before getting my masters degree in computer science
I worked as an illustrator. Among other work, I penciled
backgrounds as a subcontractor for five issues of
DC comic's Justice League Europe .
