On Fine Art, Commercial Art, Folk Art and Crafts The boundaries between these classes of art seem to create a lot of silly arguments. Most of the arguments seem to come from either being too specific about where the value of art comes from (like the common notion that fine art is essentially better art than the other forms) or from not focusing on the context of the communication. I will refine them some more and see if I can focus on some fun examples in future notes.
